The Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District’s Wastewater Treatment Facility was honored by the Department of Ecology for the 10th year in a row. The Treatment Facility is a recipient of the “2022 Outstanding Performance Award”, recognized for achieving excellent compliance with water quality permits.
Each year the Department of Ecology evaluates wastewater treatment facilities on permit conditions such as meeting numeric effluent limits, conducting monitoring, and reporting data as state law requires. This award represents the staff’s commitment and dedication to the operations and maintenance of the treatment facility and the part they play in keeping our environment clean.
Wastewater Treatment Facility Supervisor Darin Janda said, “The Outstanding Performance Award is presented to the Wastewater Treatment Facility, but truly belongs to the people of Mukilteo and our service area. It is an assurance that the professional staff at the District have done their best to protect the people’s health and the environment.”
