MUKILTEO WATER AND WASTEWATER DISTRICT
WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OFFICE/LAB BUILDING PROJECT
Foundation Piles Installation Scheduled to Begin January 9, 2020
The Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District’s (“District”) Contractor, Konnerup Construction, Inc. (“Contractor”) is scheduled to begin construction on the new Wastewater Treatment Facility Lab/Office Building on Thursday, January 2, 2020. The Wastewater Treatment Facility (“WWTF”) is located at the Bottom of Big Gulch Creek as it empties into Puget Sound and accessed off 62nd Place. This project has a 365-day contract completion deadline.
The first week of work should have little impact as it will consist of the Contractor mobilizing equipment to the site. There will be a slight increase in traffic down the WWTF road for deliveries. This work will potentially generate the most noise of any of the phases of construction and is anticipated to take approximately one month. The new building sits atop foundation pilings that need to be mechanically driven into the ground. People may hear a rhythmic “Pounding” noise as the piles are installed. Building Foundation work is scheduled to begin the second week on January 9th, 2020. Once the foundation portion of the project is complete, the remaining construction should be no more disruptive than that of a single family home being built.
City of Mukilteo construction hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
