Closing Thoughts

The MWWD, in conjunction with their team of experts, the City of Mukilteo, Snohomish County Airport, and the close cooperation and scrutiny of the regulatory agencies, have implemented a most difficult and complex repair to a major piece of public infrastructure in record time. Without this project, the livelihood of our community would have been in serious jeopardy.

The primary cost drivers to the project are the regulatory requirements that have been imposed on us, in particular the Department of Fish and Wildlife, along with the fact that the District has been required to fund the entire project. We have met all of the regulatory requirements, both technically and environmentally, and are pleased to say Big Gulch is already healing very rapidly.
